Vladimir Bukiya Biography

vladimir

VB moved to Moscow in the late 80-es. He then started a series of oil paintings, mostly portraits, using the secret, renaissance techniques he learned in France. He is still working on those paintings now, 30 years later, creating real masterpieces.

During decades, VB lived a hardworking-artist’s life, constantly searching for the breakthrough in art, delivering commissioned work and teaching students. Exploring classicism, VB always combined with constant expansion of his innovative ideas in modern art. VB has created varies series of abstract paintings, enamel panels and sculpture. Recently VB produced a new series of 3-dimensional mixed media art objects, where he successfully attempted to combine ancient sculpture elements with acrylic painting on canvas.

In the nearest future, Vladimir plans to move to the US, to South Hampton’s, NY. He plans to work on a new series of contemporary art about VISION through the eye of an artist who is slowly losing his site and going blind.
In order to avoid conversations about his resemblance to Pablo Picasso, VB wears a handsome moustache and looks like a true Georgian artist-master (which he is), who works internationally.

VB constantly exhibits since 1966. He was involved in all of the shows of Russian Artist’s Union and Russian Art Academy. His works belong to many Russian museums and private collections around the world.
